... in a game where Wes Welker fumbles a punt return near the goal line allowing the Ravens to score, and Danny Trevathan pulls a bonehead move that injures another Broncos LB. Can you imagine how unstoppable they'll be when they actually have their shit together?

Because nothing says "Welcome to Denver" quite like a blue, emaciated demon horse with red eyes that once fell over and crushed its creator to death.

I'll take "things Chargers fans have been saying for years" for $800, Alex.

The year the lion's went 1-15, they won every preseason game. I wouldn't get too excited about preseason wins.

Uh, not a preseason game. It was the season opener. Against the champions of the league.

Really? Huh well baseball season is still on and hockey season starts soon after that so my attention is elsewhere.

Understandable. Not to nitpick, but you gave the Lions an extra win there. They actually went 0-16. (I'm a closet Lions fan, too.)

While I respect Alabama in 2012, they were undeserving in 2011. If you can't even win your conference, then you aren't the best team in college football - especially if you lose at home. But, whatever, flawed system. I'm sure your fans enjoyed resting your players while LSU proved themselves by playing an additional SEC game.

I'll always be disappointed that Notre Lame played in the national championship last year. Nothing sadder than seeing Bama cream Notre Lame and Oregon cream Kansas State, and wondering, if only there was a college football playoff, these two teams would play next week. Especially when Oregon took Stanford to overtime, whereas Notre Lame beat Stanford on a horrible miscall.

Unfortunately, even if Oregon does play Alabama in the national championship or sugar bowl, it wouldn't be Chip Kelly's Oregon versus Nick Saban's Alabama, which is the match-up fans would have loved. Of course, at this point, both teams are a long ways away from being national championship talk.

Best of luck to both teams this year.

I feel the same about college football, I just can't make myself care. Yes, I know that we have approximately zero competitive college football teams in Colorado now, but that wasn't the case when I was growing up. I was in high school when the Buffs were national champs, but even then I was way more into the NFL.

Undeserving? That's a little harsh. Anyway, I think an Oregon/AL game would still be pretty good but as far as last season was concerned, you have to admit the games of the year were both Alabama/ LSU games.

Yes, undeserving was a bit harsh. But with over 100 teams in FBS and at most 14 games a season, the idea of rematches is detrimental towards providing quality games. And I stand by that statement, even if Oregon would have missed out on a chance to rematch LSU in the national championship in 2011.

No, both Alabama-LSU 2011 games weren't the game(s) of the year/decade/century they were made out to be. But then, I have spent my entire life on the west coast, and prefer either a balanced or high scoring game to a 0-3 defensive struggle. Any game in which a team's kicker and/or punter is the offensive player of the game should be disqualified from "greatest ever" status.

I've spent half my life out here and seen plenty of what is offered, I still thing the SEC just play on a different level. But, that's just my opinion.

Maybe in years past, but it is looking like a down year for the SEC. See Miami over Florida, Clemson over Georgia, one of the best teams being a Big XII refugee in Texas A&M, etc.
